Register Track

The website sells it. The software does it. Both built from scratch.

A website and a working software tool that helps UK accountancy firms track the new Companies House identity checks for their clients, without spreadsheets.

  • Next.js (React) with TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui
  • Neon (Postgres) with Drizzle ORM
  • Clerk for authentication
  • Stripe for payments
  • Cloudflare R2 for file storage
  • Resend for transactional email
  • Companies House API
  • Plausible and PostHog for analytics
  • Sentry for error monitoring
  • Vercel hosting

The brief

The UK government brought in a new rule requiring every company director and owner to verify their identity with Companies House. Accountancy firms now have to track this across hundreds of people, and most were doing it in spreadsheets. RegisterTrack needed two things at once: a public website to explain the problem and sell the product, and the actual working software that does the tracking. ZEU Studio built both.

What we did

  • Public marketing site with homepage, pricing, FAQ, and a set of plain-English guide pages to help the product get found on Google
  • An interactive preview so visitors can click around a sample dashboard before buying
  • Card payments and automatic account setup via Stripe, so a customer can buy and start using the product without anyone stepping in
  • A dashboard where a firm sees all its client companies and every director and owner in one place, each with a clear verification status
  • A live link to the official Companies House API that pulls in each company's directors and owners automatically and refreshes them daily
  • Automatic reminder emails sent as one clear daily digest rather than a flood of separate alerts
  • Evidence storage, contact logs, and one-click exports as a spreadsheet or a printable pack
  • Behind-the-scenes admin tools for issuing free trial accounts and managing the customer list

What we said no to

  • Having the software perform the identity checks. RegisterTrack tracks and organises the work. The legal check stays with the accountant. That line was a firm decision, not an oversight.
  • An off-the-shelf page builder. The whole thing is custom, which keeps it fast and gives it a calm, professional look that suits a cautious professional audience.
  • Monthly subscriptions. One clear price, paid once, because that matches how accountancy firms actually approve spending.
  • One email per reminder. After testing, a single daily summary replaced the per-item version because the noise level was too high.
